    May I ask, did you run the numbers on sz33 correctly? It can be difficult to calculate how many planes Japan can bring to that sz. But this was a programmed massacre and I wonder if this was intentional.

    I didn’t run the numbers. It looked dangerous. Again, after the realization that I had lost Russia, I have been going through the motions, rather than just giving up then and there…Sorry for the bad game.


  • @JDOW again apologies for the really bad play, I am a bit ashamed actually. Had hoped, although I didn’t ask, that I could have redone that R3 turn. it was like right after I posted and I took a look at the map I was like WTH did I do, and I wrote you and you said the same thing, odd move…

    And R3 involved neither many nor very one-sided dice for now. It would have been no problem to redo the turn.
    Also, even without redoing, you can always change your NCM even after you posted. I did not exactly understand your fatalism after posting that turn.
    The only battle that showed an unwanted commitment was the battle at Baltic state. I wouldn’t have done it this way, but even if you keep this battle, it would not have been the end of the world.
    Next time, I suggest you just do your NCM differently and no game-decisive commitment would have been made.

    Sure, we can do a rematch. I would have preferred switched sides, just for the reason I have been stuck with Axis mostly lately and I like the variation, but I can play Axis again if you like.

    I disagree, slightly, I attacked both baltic states and Novgorod too heavily, leaving a large stack at great risk, cutting my forces in half from the impending axis push towards Russia. Dice had nothing to do with it. You immediately took advantage, and I realized the following turn or two that you had great odds of taking Russia, which of course you did. I have never taken Moscow/russia and not won the game, I find it is quite critical. That is why i, rightly(?) gave up hope.

    I now checked again. in R3 no battle took place and yes, you kept a large stack at Novo this turn but those troops would have made it back to protect Moscow if played properly.
    In R4 you made this Baltic states attack.
    But as said, in R3 no battle was even rolled that forced some commitment, you were free all the time to change your NCM even after you posted.
