Yes is the answer.

You get 2 IPP for each territory regardless of how many you control. You dont need all of them.
So if you only held the Philippines then you would only get +2 IPP. If you held Java, Borneo, and the Philippines, you would receive +6 IPPs.

The same is the case for the +1 Territories in China and the +1 For Wake, Midway, and Solomons.

If you hold a listed territory, and are at war with a major power (barring Eveolved China), then you will get the IPP bonus for that territory .

Haha that was directly related to being new to the game. My brother’s first time playing. I’m trying to remember what he said, but he either had forgotten about the Maginot Line rule, or just didn’t think the attack also coming from Picardia would make it happen (thus my asking the original question here).

In the end he knew he’d blow by (and he was right, I think I only rolled one kill from the defenses there), and wanted to use his Lightning Strike ability. It was the last turn to use it, and his men in Munich would have been out of place to help if they didn’t also attack.

Just a learning curve mistake! I will say, teaching someone new makes you realize how much there is to learn in the game. I’d read the rules multiple times over before even purchasing the map, so I already had/have a good base, as opposed to him or others going in completely blind.

I think the “each time” thing threw you off a bit there too. That is more in reference to any attacks on other neutrals besides China (Warlords/KMT/CCP all included in that “China” umbrella), and not to potential other attacks on other Chinese factions.

But as GHG said, once a faction of any kind in China is attacked, the rest automatically align, so there couldn’t possibly be any other Chinese factions that could be considered neutral anymore anyways!

Hello GHG, the problem we have is that the rules (in this case the Great Britain National Reference Sheet) clearly state that the Dutch colonies only become controlled or aligned to the British at the end of the combat phase :

“DUTCH COLONIES If Axis or Comintern declares war on the Netherlands, Netherlands becomes Controlled by or Aligned to Great Britain at the end of the Combat Phase. Once Aligned, it may distribute this income as it sees fit to itself, FEC or ANZAC.”

In your answer, you mention “As soon as the Dutch are are declared war on they come under the control of the British”, so that could be during a combat move against the Dutch and not only “at the end of the Combat Phase”.

However, if submerging subs is considered an integral part of the decision process of rolling and choosing casualties, then I agree with you.

@Broken-Mortar Hmmm that’s the only reason I could think of. I just checked the V-3 rules and it’s says 2 so it probably was a typo.

I would say they are. I think there are two exceptions though, 1) the US’s movement being restricted by their current income, 2) You cant combat move vs a nation through a canal they own.

They collect separately. Even after the truce, they are separate countries and collect separately.

It’s funny how such an important rule is in such an odd place. You’d think it would be mentioned in the non-combat chapter but it isn’t :/. There is nothing wrong with stating the same rule in multiple sections. I hope that the creator of the game will be receptive to hot-fixes for V.3.0.
