I felt that I wasn’t getting anywhere just defending Australia, so moved the U.S. fleet north. But after I did, I had second thoughts when I had to retreat the ANZ units and feared that you might take a territory or island and I wouldn’t be able to take it back.

In a team game last year, I was Japan and had taken the islands, China and India. The German player was in trouble, but I was at peace with Russia, who had enough units near the border with China to make an attack costly. So I sailed off to Africa in hopes of diverting UK assets. It wasn’t worth it. UK converged on me and I sailed away without the army. You have a decent size force. I was anticipating you attacking the Mideast I.C.'s. Maybe I made them too strong for you to attack.
