    @gribble Heh heh, I had just two battles, and lost them both! Looking closer, I see something that I cannot explain.

    Ok, so as I understand LL, the process is to take the total of all the chances, of all the units in a battle, and them together and then divide by 6, and roll any fractions remaining on a single d6, with your chance for one last extra hit being remainder/6?

    So, unless there is yet another rule change I’m not aware of, or some basic change in a units combat stats, I’m at a total loss to explain the above battle.

    For the Russians:
    10@1 + 1@3 = 13, so 13/6 = 2 + 1/6 remainder (2+1/6)
    For the Germans:
    8@2 = 16, so 16/6 = 2 + 4/6 remainder (2 + 4/6)

    So, using LL we should have seen each side hit 2 times ‘automatically’, and then seen third hits being 1/6 for the Russians (Hard, but not impossible) and 4/6 for the Germans (most likely, but not a sure thing).

    The summary, however, shows the hits as 3 Russian and 4 German. Unless the German units {tanks, arty, and inf} defend on something other than a ‘1-2’, something is wrong.

    Russia getting three hits is very unlikely, but possible, but Germany getting 4 hits is not possible at all, right?

    Second round of combat we should have seen the Russians with 1 tank and 7 infantry, but let’s go with the 1 and 6, so

    For the Russians:
    6@1 + 1@3 = 9, so 9/6 = 1 + 3/6 (1+3/6)
    For the Germans:
    5@2 = 10, 10/6 = 1 + 4/6 (1 + 4/6)

    This time, the Russians score one hit, and don’t get lucky with a second hit, while the German should hit twice two thirds of the time, and yet, we once again see the Germans score an impossible 3 hits?!?!

    And after all this, I go reload the game and discover that yes, the game designers did indeed change the tanks to a 3/3 unit, and so the calculations above are correct with those values.

    Grrrr.

    I hate being surprised by things that have changed from what I am used to, but I guess it’s just going to be a long and painful process learning new things, and making mistakes that everyone is going to be entertained by reading here.

    They were 3/2, and I missed this in the rules, and didn’t catch it until I went back in game and redid Russia’s purchases, and sure enough, there it was. Heh heh, I really, really, really need to go over every unit/tech/rule so as not to get caught out again, lol.

    Ok, Britain is done, and in more ways than one, lol.

    With her navy sunk, her airforce ineffective without ground troops, and India and Egypt is Axis hands, I cannot see any way this game comes out in anything other than an Axis victory, at least using the 1941 setup.

    If you want to keep slugging this out, we can do that, but as far as I can see there is nothing a noob like me is going to be able to do to stem the Axis tide. There must be something I can do that would let the allies have a fighting chance, but I cannot see what that might be…

    Up to you, continue this game, or start another, or maybe have you play the allies?
