I was a bit frustrated by the way this game played in the Med but I think I mostly did it right. I can only really identify one major mistake. That was continuing the attack on Iraq UK2 when I could have just retreated to Trans-Jordan and kept the Suez closed. There was no need to take it UK2 when UK3 (or ANZ2) would have been good enough.
I guess I should have positioned the UK bomber in Gibraltar UK1 too. Would have been much more useful than a strat bomb on W Germany. I wasn’t really anticipating the loss of the SZ92 stack though - perhaps that was a pretty major mistake. With Germany holding Sth France, the 2 Italian fighters can be brought in. Still, it was only 36% and only that good because I lost a plane in SZ96.
If the I5 amphibious assault on Persia had gotten average dice, this would have been a pretty short game. The Axis got a lot of momentum, including Italian income, when they could pass the Suez. I guess I should have been able to put in another plane.

My great issue is winning in the Pacific… I just don’t know how to close. Why didn’t I press India harder? No idea. Taking Hawaii round 7 is nice and all but taking India round 9 would have paid off better.

I have a similar problem in the Pacific, so I’m not the person to ask. You came pretty close but I don’t think holding off Hawaii was a winning move for the Pacific, although it did tie up USA really well. I was also pretty surprised you threw all your ships and planes at that mini fleet I had.

I’d have to go back and review… I ended up in 3 games as Axis and at one point it all 3 were in the same round 12 so its a bit blurry which game is which.
Here I think UK’s failed sea zone stack at the beginning hurt since it let’s Italy run wild for a little while, forcing UK to exert a lot of effort.
Russia stacking Karaelia round 1/2 was a minor mistake, loosing a valueable stack of infantry, forcing you back to your capital as Germany ran south.
Even in the end here, if you had moved some subs away from Italy to help attack Germany’s fleet… or noticed how weakly defended London was before I did, this game might still go your way because of my screw ups in the Pacific.

Yeah, smashing the SZ92 stack was a major setback for me. It was a 36% attack, I think 18% chance of a draw, so a pretty dodgy attack. It was only that good for Italy because you hit in the SZ96 battle. Otherwise I would have had a tac in the fleet as well, can’t imagine you making the attack in that case.

Do you have a preference?We can flip for Axis if you have a preference (I’m actually fine with either) I’m back and forth on low luck. Kind of like not having the wild swings like, in one of my other games I whiffed in a battle despite having like 95% odds and plenty of things attacking at 3 and 4.
