    Whoa, all this time I thought both bombers and fighters rolled 1 in strategic bombing air battles. Just read the rule that fighters roll at 2. Now I see why it was worth intercepting with just one fighter.

    Interesting U.S. move to take Sum in force to make it more difficult for Japan to retake it. And risk your fleet to protect your transports, knowing you have 7 bombers to counterattack and ANZ to follow up. Japan has done well, but I waited too long to build 2nd I.C. in China, and Japan’s income will take a hit.

    But I am pleased with Italian turn. It never ceases to amaze me how a player can find a shortcut for bombers and even fighters with airbases, to reach far away places like Rostov. I rolled badly, so didn’t take it, but Russia can only attack with air and not retake Ukr. Unusual for Italy to take Ukr, since it rarely has the income to utilize it. Egypt will be secure for another turn with heavy German air support.
