Another awesome video, YG.
Im sure many have made their own flight stands. I have read many suggestions on what to use and how to do it. So I gave it a try with what I had on hand and did’nt go out and buy anything exspressly for it. All I used was small felt furniture pads, 1/2” OSD X 1/8” ISD washer, 1/8” wooden dowel, 3 mm neodymium magnet, super glue. Then Paint. Blue, white and red.
If it works for you great !
@Sarge Neat stands Sarge! Is the washer just to provide additional weight down low? Is the doweling inserted into the felt, or just glued to the top of it? Did you have any difficulty getting these to be perfectly vertical?
@Intrepid the washer served two purposes, one for weight and the second a perfect circle to help replicate the U.S. Marking.
The dowels are inserted into a hole I drilled in the felt pad with a drill press. Then I used medium thick CA glue to affix the dowel upright ( vertical) and only have to hold in place for 30 seconds.
@Sarge. How about writing 0-6 around the washer, and piece of a twist tie (or something) can be the pointer on the fuel gauge?
@Phelan-Kell that’s an interesting idea.
