I’m going to play WWII movies when we game and was wondering if you guys could help me with a list of newer movies
Well, here’s a curated list of “the 50 best WWII movies”, dated mid-2018:
That should give you a start.
An additional source would be to go in the opposite direction from new movies: by looking for WWII films (dramas, documentaries, propaganda films, newsreels) which were actually produced during the war. A lot of this stuff is now in public domain; some of it can be found for free on sites like YouTube, or purchased on DVD at a low cost. There are companies like Mill Creek Entertainment which sell multi-disc (24, 50, 100 disc) packages which add up to dozens of hours of viewing time; a good one from Mill Creek is the 24-disc pack America: Stories of War, which covers several wars (including WWII and Korea). Many of these WWII films are shorts, so they’d fit nicely into the A&A time intervals in between an individual player’s game turns, and some of them are in colour. Three examples of the kind of movie I’m talking about are: The Fighting Lady (1944), The Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress (1944), and With the Marines at Tarawa (1944); I especially like The Fighting Lady, which is about carrier warfare and which will appeal both to the naval and aviation enthusiasts in your group.
Theirs is the Glory (1946) is one of these, where the soliders advised and re-enacted the same events they’d participated in two or so years before, but this time, under the camera and not under fire.
“Sink the Bismark!” is free on youtube and worth the watch if you haven’t seen it.
Great suggestion, watching now.

@suprise-attack best of the best in the background as you play Axis and Allies Battle of the Bulge
The Longest Day
Bridge over the river quy

Sink the Bismark
To Hell and Back

If the game isnt over by the time you get to Dirty Dozen you love this game too much.
Netflix has quite a few films from WWII available for streaming: Prelude to War, The Battle of Russia, Tunisian Victory, Thunderbolt, Report from the Aleutians, The Battle of Midway, San Pietro and more. They also have the entire World War II in Colour series.
The World at War series from the BBC circa 1970’s. Like 12 discs. Maybe 40’hours. I don’t know. Been a while since I watched it. I got it on Amazon

Best are Stallingrad, The Fighting Lady, Avengers: End game. captain Marvel and The Longest Day, these are best so far, infact I saw all of them by using coupons through Florida Ticket Station, if you need to watch them, you can easily buy tickets from there.
