Did you understand the steps in getting the Java console information? Can you also provide that?

  • 2024 '22 '21 '19 '18

No, way above my head. I really don’t know what I’m doing, I’m just blindly following step by step instructions the best i can.

  • '19 '17 '16

Are you sure you clicked “Properties”? I don’t see that information. That will tell us about your Java version.

  • The error is caused by an outdated Java.

    java.runtime.version=1.8.0_66-b17

max334, please remove your outdated Java installation and replace it by the latest Java 8 Update 191 (as of now).

    Get it from

    https://java.com/download/

    HTH :-)

    Hi max334,
Can you find the TripleA.vmoptions file and either remove or rename it.

  • @simon33:

    Hi max334,
Can you find the TripleA.vmoptions file and either remove or rename it.

How is this related to the dice server issue?

When the dice server is addressed via https old Java versions have outdated SSL/TLS-certificates.
That causes the dice server error, then, IIRC.

  • '19 '17 '16

He said perhaps in another thread that he was getting the Triple A flashing up and then disappearing, and not starting. So that’s probably the problem. He reckons he’s done the Java update.

  • Ah ok, then additionally to the dice server issue he encounters the RAM-issue, solved starting from https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=42805.msg1819776#msg1819776

I would not recommend to get rid of the vmopitons. Starting the triplea.exe without vmoptions is like directly executing the triplea.jar.
You can do so, but you might experience Out-Of-Memory Errors during the game, as it happened to majikforce (https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=42805.msg1819605#msg1819605).
