:? Does anyone have news on The 2nd edition and maybe photo’s?

Welcome back to the game Joyrider. I stopped playing for a little while and started playing back in about 97 and I am hooked again. Be careful Joyrider you may end up being like me and play and you won’t want to stop.

I thought we were talking about Classic A&A, not Revised A&A?  Because if we are, then you are incorrect.  Subs cannot submerge.  Hence my above post about the subs not being able to withdraw because there is no friendly seazone to withdraw to.

No, technically I’m not incorrect, - but sorry, for not being explicit.

“Submerge” is a part of the 3rd edition (cd-r) rules playable on the classic board, and very popular. Not 2nd edit exactly, but still rules for the classic board. Basically a “2nd edition extended”, really.

I could have said explicitly that I was playing a 3rd edition CD-game, I just thought it was obvious, since I was referring to the CD-R game (The “classic” CDRvideo game, not a revised map).

The CD-R contains 2nd edit rules as well as the specific additional 3rd edition rules: (east-west canada/submerge/naval occupation/arial retreat)  + the very popular rule options: “two hit battleship”, “USSR restricted” etc.

Many people actually play with these rules on the classic board as well. On boardgames in my house-club/playnights (now 3 groups of people) we very rarely play “strictly 2nd” (we soon got bored!). Much more often we play 3rd edition with option: “two hit battleship”, - but yeah, soon we will catch a revised A&A - i believe)

Concerning the nasty Kriegsmarine-destroying monster bug: This awful bug apparently comes creepin’ both in the 2nd and 3rd rules on the CD-R.

Don’t see enough modern flicks to know Salma Hayak from Uma Thermon(sp?). Would you recommend one of her films, please?

Maybe Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen as the other “one” for dzfish? Oh, wait! I’m not sure they’re legal yet :-? !? Hey, they have their own empire. Anybody wanna picture dzfish as a boy-toy? :o :lol: :wink:

she is NOT a good actress, just a sexy one.
So i couldn’t recommend a movie to portray her acting but Desparado comes to mind (the much bigger budgetted sequal to “El Mariachi”), as does “Dusk to Dawn” (bit part - awful movie tho’), Fools Rush in, etc.

i like europe simply bc im a german guy and pacific doesnt have em^_^ but its to short playtime being over w/in like 4-5 turns. takes longer to set up the dern board

look at it this way, T1 USA builds 3 Transports 4 infantry. At the end of this turn, USA has 5 Transport in the water (although the fate of the Pacific transport remains to be decided) T2 USA has 4 Transports load 8 inf into its Transports and puts them anywhere. Since it doesnt seem your making any Africa Effort, the Infanty can go to Finland- Normay. Britan builds an India Factory and 3 tanks, moving it’s transport into Blocking position so you can’t invade india. If China Survives, (You never know) America Retreats into Sinkang. Russia, seeing Japan playing aggresively, retreats into Novobrisk. Then, when(Max) 9 inf 3 tanks get into Yakut, Russia Counter attacks, destroying or at least killing a few. Turn 2 Britan attacks Indochina with 4 Tanks 2 infanry, more if he didnt block with his transport. Japan has been stalled, Germany has tons of Transport bound D-Dayers coming in, and Britan may just overwhelm Japan with it’s India Factory.
