How to harden plastic or coat?
Does anyone know how to harden the soft plastic in some miniatures? For instance the OOB A&A Japanese. Their guns always loose their paint (even with priming, etc.).
I have tried boiling and flash cooling. Might help a little.
Is there any clear coat that goes on thin(ish) but hardens up?
Its the type of plastic they used in the last few sets. It seems to have a high oil content making paints ineffective over the long term. The best solution is to clear coat them with Testors Dull Coat and paint over it but eventually, the oil will make its way through
Thanks, will give that try. The other/combined issue is that it is so pliable that the plastic bends and the paint peels off also. Might even try a dip in super glue or something.
