@Call77 yea it’s just a game to me. They gonna ban all WW II movies now ? Or Captain America ? lol
Woke On ha ha ha
Must achieve as a Technology: (ON A D20 SYSTEM)
ATTACK: n/a
DEFENSE: 4
A Single Use Defense against Shipping. Each mine rolls on first round of Defense then removed from Play. Must be built at Factory and placed in sea zone for activation. Once Active, Mines will defend seazone when entered by enemy. If mines are not designated “Active” and enemy enters Seazone Mines are removed and not useful.
Nice sculpt. A couple of points I’m wondering about:
Is the magnetic mine, as described here, a weapon against which there is no defense and no countermeasures? More specifically: can it be eliminated harmlessly by a minesweeper unit, and can ships be given protection against it via a degaussing coil tech?
“Mines will defend seazone when entered by enemy” seems to imply that the magnetic mine doesn’t affect ships from the side that laid the mine in the first place. If so, how does the mine tell the difference between a friendly ship and an enemy ship?
Wow that is really cool!
It would also be a useful technology for games using tech.
Would you place one per round, or is it a one time thing? I liked the countermeasure suggestions.
-Its a one time defense. You can have 1 or 20 (as many as you want) Rolls first round and then removed.
-we don’t have Mine Sweepers in our game, but that would be cool
-forgot cost. We do (2) Mines for 3IPC. Remember on a D20, a hit of 4 is low percentage.
-its more of a deterrent then anything. As an attacker, if you see 20 Mines you think twice, even though on a D20 hitting on a 4 can be difficult.
-got the idea from Table Tactics, they came out with Land Mines in one of their expansions. Which we use as well.
will be selling these on combatminiatures.org within weeks. This was just the prototype

Table Tactics’ A&A Accessories expansion for Classic A&A. I love the pieces from that expansion.

I need a number of those. like 12
sounds good. I want to do an updated Land Mine as well.
I will take a number of those as well.
It’s just occured to me that we have a few forum members who’ve created vertical A&A map boards, made of metal, to which all the game components like sculpts and chips and roundels and base markers can be attached because all of them have had tiny magnets inserted into them. It would be hilarious if the one exception to this system – the only type of unit that wasn’t magnetized – was the magnetic mine sculpt. That would be the A&A equivalent of one of the best gags in the Mel Brooks film Silent Movie, in which the only character who has a speaking part is the famous mime artist Marcel Marceau.
now available: Set of 12 Mines on my Shapeways store
Just placed a decent ebay order from you. I ordered the mines you originally had on shapeways, what was the change you made?
I guess my tree was not connected at the bottom. Simple fix
Thank you for the purchase by the way.
