Looking for a vector map

I just got AAP for Christmas.  I have played A&A classic and revised for several years.  If you don’t mind playing a noob I’d be game for it.

Well, I’d like any good Pacific Map with the island named.  So I guess a Pacific 1940 map with the label, or a better/bigger downloadable version of the ‘original’ Pacific game board, which already had it labeled.  Either would be great for me (and my family).

I have a photo of my grand dad playing baseball on the island…. naval officers versus cooks. 🙂

thanks aretaku… that be a map (which wasn’t there before on google, I’d think the 2nd hit would have been found… but I had gone threw a dozen plus pages of google searches, image and web).

anyhow, found IL’s revised and looks to be superior to the original.

Well, frederick319, thanks to your response further up the thread, I settled on getting the 335 piece printed version instead of the rarer 330 piece printed one. I found one on ebay and to my surprise, not only did it have the red Chinese pieces (which were pretty clear in the pictures), it also had all 8 of the Wildcat/Hellcat pieces as well as the miscounted US infantry pieces with 12-olive infantry and 25-green Marines! So a double bonus since olive infantry are easy to come by!

Production values seemed pretty close to my original Pacific set (345 piece printing with the red Japanese pieces).

I’m a newcomer to this site although I have been playing A&A for maybe twenty years now.  I got A&A Pacific a couple of years ago but unluckily  🙂 my gaming group has always had more than three players available, so we tend to end up playing A&A revised and A&A Europe.

However, we do play Pacific now and then and we by the second Pacific session we had learned what Saburo Sakai lays out in this essay– Japan had better buy subs and India had better start stacking land forces up in anticipation of an India assault.  Couple that idea with the realization that territories such as New Britain are vital due to the Naval Base rule and you are well on your way to an enjoyable and hard fought Pacific campaign.  Cheers!!
