My foe was not aware of this rule. Since my 4 fighters scored 3 hits along with my 9 attacking bombers 3 hits against all 6 of his fighters scoring hits I might suggest we redo that round! Thanks Krieg!
For the rule To see the differences between the Revised, LHTR and Spring 1942 check the attached .pdf, made by Krieghund.
Map & setup changes:
UK Battleship on SZ13 replaced with a Cruiser
UK Destroyer on SZ35 replaced with a Cruiser
US Destroyer on SZ10 replaced with a Cruiser
J Destroyer on SZ50 replaced with a Cruiser
Formosa (J) and Iceland (UK) have been added to the map
Western Canada now only borders SZ64 (on Revised it bordered Central US, SZs63 & 55)
Central US now borders Eastern Canada and Panama instead of W. Canada and Mexico
Can one of the moderators please make this a sticky topic?
To me it’s not a bad move if you only send the transports. The Germans will destroy them but you now have US ground units in the race for Africa.
That’s usually the way I play it. Especially if Germany is successful in Egypt. And like Hobbes said, if Germany decides to go after the US troops you’ve taken a turn away from it’s attack on Russia or the UK Navy.
Besides, it’s about the only thing the U.S. can do turn one. I’ve been teaching a couple guys how to play and it’s tough to tell the US players, who has waited almost an hour for his turn, to just make some buys with a plane movement thrown in there and wait another hour before it can do anything else (and there might not be much turn two either).
GTO only has the Revised and 42 editions. Perhaps you are confusing Revised with Anniversary.
Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve been on GTO. Are the Anniversary rules much different from Spring 1942?
