im not too sure but is it true that you can make as many combat moves as you like at once, then play them each out? or one movement then battle, and so on. and can you make as many non combat moves as you like befor your turn is over??

Yes you commit all units to the battles you would like to conduct. Then you fight them in the order you would like them to go in.
You can make as many Non-Combat Moves as possible.
