Easy and it is what I did immediately upon seeing the ABORTION of a map that A&A had at the time. Make the boundaries of these 4 places realistic……

Have the Caucasus be the actual mountainous area plus the southern plains to the immediate north only. Have Ukraine  directly border Caucasus, Moscow & Eastern Europe (& Balkans) Have Eastern Europe border Ukraine, Russia, Karelia (& Southern Europe & Germany) Have Karelia border Eastern Europe, Russia & Khanty-Mansi (as it should)

That original map was a giant turd! One of the worst, if not the worst, map produced for a very popular game. The game is great - that map crap.

AA is only available in Triple A online and the board game. Anything else is some silly fabrication with Axis and Allies slapped on the side.

Axis and Allies Butter
Axis and Allies salt shaker
Axis and Allies hubcaps

etc…

Fair enough.

But that “settlement” does violate black-letter game rules over an ambiguity that does not really exist.

In answer to #1:
No.  LZ’s have to exist for everything sent in.  “Planning” on losing a fig in terms of counting LZ’s would make 1 of the 3 FIGS a “kazee”

In answer to #2:
Anything NOT used in the naval battle CAN be used for the amphib.  The only thing that can participate in the naval battle that also is part of the amphib is the tranny, and that only to offload troops (thus not actually IN the amphib battle).

1 piece, 1 fight, per round.

So if your bomber did not fight in the naval battle, but has the range to reach the amphib attack area, it CAN be used.

I play online WW2 flight sims like Aces High and WW2OL. People really need to cheer-up on those boards ;)

Incidently, I got my nickname while doing carrier trials for an Aces High naval squadron. I couldn’t catch the wire when landing, and that’s what the Navy calls a bolter…it stuck.
