I like the logic of making it hard for Germany to attack both 97 and Greece on G2.
But I don’t think it’s worth sacrificing the transport compared to using the transport to take Persia.
This idea might be more viable in a 2nd edition game with a carrier bid to 98 making it risky for Germany to attack 97 on G2. But even in that case I’d rather take Persia in order to help the Soviets blitz south faster.
It really depends on what happened G1. If germany is not really set up to take greece and lets italy take it putting an AA + 2 inf ( or just 2 inf there ) might mean italy cannot attack it IT1.
And at the same time provides a landing zone if you went taranto hard and they did not scramble, so if they attack that fleet the carrier can take the first 2 hits and your planes are safe.
If germany already took bulgaria and has 3 tanks in range it might not be worth it.
since you get to do the move in non combat you can first see how the combat rolls went and then act accordingly making use of good dice or avoiding issues with bad dice.
What if germany did 110 light and you managed to kill 3 planes there and the Aa in france takes doen a tactical as well. Now germany has 6-7 air units and you might want to make it expensive for them to hit your fleet. Once its in UK’s Non Combat move there are so many things happened that you cannot really say what moves are good and what moves are bad before getting to that point.
