• Radar stations are new facilities that can be purchased like air and naval bases.  Their cost is 10 IPCs.  They add 1 die roll to any other aircraft defensive rolls for a strategic bombing raid in the territory.  They are subject to damage same as bases, but are out of commission after 2 hits, and they have their own antiaircraft systems same as bases.

    For my part, I believe radar stations capacity should be merged with Air Base bonus.
    Giving a defense bonus to intercepting Fighters is simpler. And no need to add another facility.

    Maybe there is something which can be added to increase interception and make Fighter better than attacking TacBomber:
    What do you think about a +1 defensive air bonus coming from an operational Airbase?
    Up to three intercepting Fighters get +D1 bonus, making them defending @2 against incoming bombers and Fighters @1 during dogfight phase.

    You can also see radar as a tech. Which increase AA guns to @2 per incoming plane.


  • Expanding the radar station capabilities to 3 ways and increasing the cost….

    Radar stations are new facilities that can be purchased like air and naval bases.  Their cost is 12 IPCs.  They increase air defense in 3 ways: 1) they add 1 die roll to any other aircraft defensive rolls for a strategic bombing raid in the territory; 2) they provide ability to scramble 1 additional aircraft to an adjacent sea zone; 3) for each undamaged point under 4, they add 1 additional AAA die roll to an individual AA unit (ie. if the radar station is undamaged it would add 1 AAA die roll to 3 AA units).  They are subject to damage same as bases, but are out of commission after 3 hits, take 6 hits max, and they have their own antiaircraft systems same as bases.  Cost 1 IPC to  repair a damage point.

    Radar station is a good idea, however maybe as a buyable upgrade to an airbase facility similar to the Radar Tech.  Not sure another facility for this addition is the way to go.
