Not sure about that. They are dirty cheats. To give an example: the 107th min French Yellow Card (Koscielny) for a hand ball, should have been given to a Portugese player. I do get annoyed how players cannot own up to things like that.
France were better and should have won.
Well, in the overtime Portugal had the better chances, that is what I was referring to.
They certainly did not play the best football of the tournament. Agreed.
To me, as a portuguese, we won, fair and square, but that’s just my opinion :)
Referee made mistakes that benefited both sides, like the tackle that took Ronaldo early out of the game, which is a common ‘cheat’ used in soccer play, or just a casual clash between players, and the referee decided to ignore it. But the most important moments of the game were decided by the players on both sides. And contrary to popular and pundits beliefs, Ronaldo wasn’t actually needed to win the final, which should have made easier to France to win the match.
I completely agree that we didn’t play the best looking soccer on the whole championship. This win was a surprise for a lot of people here in Portugal too, specially considering what we played on the groups’ matches.

Perhaps, Ronaldo’s injury galvanised your squad and gave them a reason to play better and work harder. It was a splendid goal. I missed the tackle that took him out, as I was putting my daughter to bed. Saw the end and perhaps too, you were right about Portugal being better in Extra Time, Panther. I had the TV on in the background, as I was playing Settlers with my wife. She was hoping for penalties! I am glad it was won before that.
