Using the Japanese destroyer to sink the Anzac DD + Transport is truly a mean thing for me to have pulled off. It has never worked for me before.
What is the deal with Russian Tanks? German troops are just heading down to the Black Sea for some rest! It is an effective strategy since I don’t have enough troops to do a G2 invasion with that much firepower.

Pretty good J1 move, a few risky attacks that went fine for you. Now you have a strong position in both sides of the map.

Germany went about average for the first round. Nothing disastrous like a failed Paris attack. Japan went slightly above average for a J1 attack. I do like that opening because it captures the money islands more quickly.
I normally respond with a KJF strategy which inevitably works; the difficulty is transitioning to a counter-German strategy before the European sector gets out of hand. At least Italy will be reduced to a shriveled husk at the end of this round.
