• I know that Naval units do not have to stop if there is an enemy sub or transport present. I know a sub can by pass naval units if there is no destroyer present. I may have already answered my question without realizing it but please help anyways.

Can your attacking naval force bypass an enemy sub even if you have a destroyer in that naval force?

    Do subs stop subs?

Here is the situation Germany has a naval force with destroyers in SZ112 they want to move to and invade from SZ127. Russia has on sub in SZ 125. Can the whole German naval force bypass the sub? If not can Germany first move the naval force without destroyers to Z127 and then move the destroyers to SZ125 and kill the Russian sub?

The fleet can ignore the sub and subs can ignore other subs.

  • Basically the easiest way to remember it:

You can always choose to ignore unescorted subs when moving ships (Edit:with a combat value) at sea.  Ship type does not matter.

When conducting combat, things change a bit depending on the presence of a destroyer or not.

  • I believe that your force, with the destroyers, will have stop and engage the sub, as that is the DD’s main function, to locate subs. You could send all of the naval force minus the destroyers, that way they could ignore the sub. But you could not do that , then bring the DD’s to battle the sub as all combat movement is happening simultaneously.

  • Unescorted transports can ignore subs as long as they are not in the sea zone that you are conducting an amphibious assault from. That’s when you need a warship to ignore the sub(s).
