As an A&A game, yea it does suck pretty hard. As a stand alone WWII RTS it is not too shabby. It is one of the few RTS games that takes supply into consideration, and unit morale. I kinda like it. But if you are looking for a Axis and Allies type game you probablly will not like it.
A&A Global 1940 vs Global 1939
I have been playing A&A global 1940 for some years with my friends. Recently I found this game http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/Global-War-1939-Axis-Allies-Variant-Map-Revised_p_362.html#
Did anyone played this 1939 version?
If yes would you recommend this game?

I have played it once before. It’s much bigger. Uses more in depth rules, different units for country’s, takes longer, uses 12 sided dice, has more countries to play with. It just depends on if you’re (as well as your play group) ready for something deeper.
I would highly recommend it. It is everything that dummerinheat said and more. It is alot of fun and I believe that the 7.2 version has most of the game-play bugs worked out. Alot of the house rules that I have read about for Global 40 actually show up as game rules in the ‘39’ version. I would recommend the bigger map and have it printed on vinyl.
There isn’t a version of this map for TripleA is there?
not on triplea. Would be cool tho
