    Hello guys,
Is somebody using these harbours as shortcuts? Somebody has experience with the following?
Harbour @Brasil shortcut from NewZealand to Gibraltar in two turns
Harbour @Palau Island only territory where all japanese ships can meat after turn 1, possible way to Sydney Round 2 (in case no blockers there)
Harbour @panama to have Gibraltar and Hawai as options for the following turns

I do this one quite often.  Can’t recall ever putting a base on Palau or Brazil but British New Guinea is a good spot sometimes. Also, Johnston or Line Island can sometimes help you reinforce Sydney in a pinch.

Panama gives you that as well.

  • Hello Robson.
The Caroline Islands naval base would do the same thing for the Japanese as building one on Palau.  If the allies capture the Carolines, you now have a series of naval bases (harbours) that will quikly move you across the pacific.  The Hawaian naval base gives you three sea zones to the Caroline naval base.  The Caroline naval base gives you three sea zones to Japan (sz 6), three to the Philipines, or three to Australia.  Very handy naval base which ever side has it.
The naval base in Bazil would be very handy in shuffling resources to South Africa.  It would also help to get a shuttle of transports going back and forth to the sea zone just inside the Mediteranean.
I have not used a Panama naval base in Global 40 yet but in Global 39 it needs to be an early purchase for the US if you want to land in Gibraltar in one turn.

I think he meant to buy a Palau naval base on J1 and put the whole fleet there.

The Brazil Naval Base does not help much at all for South Africa.  Maybe if you are coming from EUS and u want to stay far from Gib.

That s true variance. The plan was to have a spot for the whole japanese navy

Here’s a the plan I think you have in mind.

J1 build Palau airbase.  Put entire Japanese fleet at Palau, including 3 loaded transports, 3 loaded carriers, 2 cruisers, 2 BBs. Put lots of planes in Carolines.

J2 declare war on UK/ANZAC and clear any blocker ships. Park fleet next to Sydney.

    J3 take Sydney.

This might work if you keep USA neutral, but ANZAC may stack South Australia and liberate Sydney.  It’s easier said than done but if your opponent doesn’t know what you are doing you might pull it off.

  • You don’t even have to declare war turn 2, just park the whole fleet next to Sydney and declare war turn 3.

It is very possible to take Sydney early this way, but the problem is that it majorly slows down getting the money islands. And Sydney is tough to hold against a determined American foe.

That’s true, although ANZAC might DOW just so the blockers slow it down.  Again that would be if they understand what you are up to
