@Krieghund Thanks! (For completeness, I should have been more clear in that Germany controlled Persia at the beginning of its turn in this example. i.e. there was/is a legal landing zone for the fighter)
Weapons Development for captured capital
-
I have been playing this game about 13 years now and I have never come up against this situation until now.
1. I am Axis (GER and JAP), opponent is Allies (UK, RUS and USA)
2 Opponent (a novice) has Heavy Bombers and Industrial Technology for both UK and USA.
3. I am close to capturing either country (although all of us always think we’re close).
4. I already have RUS.
5. If I capture UK or USA, does the conquering country get the weapons technology?
6. I have looked everywhere and did not see this scenario addressed.Opinions, guidance?

Hell NO! You have to develop your own weaponry. It does not become yours if you take out his capital or if your even his ally.

I agree with Imperious if you are using rules similiar to the box rules for weapons development.
However, it should aid your nation some what if you are playing with any house rules that use stages or tracks progress for the development of weapons technology. I use a four stage development for weapons technology. (World at War expansion uses something similiar)
for example:
After capturing an enemy nations capitol, each of your weapons development stages advances by two for every technology that the captured nation had fully developed. The theory behind this is basically that that your nation is able to utilize information taken from:
-weapons found in tact from within the captured territory
-discovered notes and plans from the enemies developmental stages of the technology
-captured scientists, pow’s, etcYour nation should not receive a weapons tech just for capturing an enemies capitol. But it is realistic that your nation would benefit some what from information that could be gathered or taken.
I also use a spy rule that allows a nation to steal weapon tech information allowing for an advancement/progress of one to any weapon development.

Hmmm…
If you already have Russia, and you capture UK or EUS, you win, and have no further need of their technology anyway. ;)

Can you imagine the Germans capturing Moscow and finding all these bomber blueprints? I can see the OKW specialists now, reading the blueprints upside down because of a mistranslation. The resulting prototype was a disaster. Pity those bomber pilots that opened the bomb bay doors on top of their aircraft and bombed themselves.

please post images of the game, it sounds like a weird game, I have not seen axis take uk or usa because allies surrender first

There is a house rule somewhere that claims,
Pay 10 IPC to gain a tech that another nation already has developed
