Independent New England

  • Would Great Britain and her commonwealth, support a break away republic of New England into her ranks again? What do you think?

( how do you create a poll?)

  • 2017 '16 '15

hit on general discussion and in the top right it will give you the poll option

I’m sure canada would be all for it but I doubt Bostonians would be

Thats like saying the original colonies of the US become property of England. Impossible.

More likely, England becomes part of the US.

No one wants to be part of California.  That’s what really matters.

On behalf of the people of Canada, I declare that our nation hereby accepts Maine, Vermont  and New Hampshire as provinces of our Dominion.  We will also accept the Northern part of New York state, including all territory north of interstate 90, including Buffalo and Albany, as a new province that shall be named North York and its capital shall be Schenectady.  Our nation welcomes all former American and Mexican citizens living in these areas to our Empire and we promise that all new citizens shall be afforded the same rights and responsibilities as natural born Canadians.
    So say we all.

    Please take western massachusetts too!

  • 2017 '16 '15 '14 '12

Alright JWW we will take Western Mass too, including everything West of I95.  We get the West bound lanes of I90 and the South bound lanes of I95.  We will also take Boston, but only if you take the island of Montreal.

  • Liaison TripleA '11 '10

I refuse to accept Mexican Indians.  We already have enough “First Nations”.  We can’t afford to start paying into “Most Recent Nations” as well.

  • 2017 '16 '15 '14 '12

Gargantua, that’s a good point but I don’t think there are a whole lot of Mexicans in those rural areas of New England.  Rest assured the government of Canada will be conducting ethnic cleansing operations in these areas after the annexation and if we do find significant numbers of Mexicans we shall deport a corresponding number of Aboriginals from the Western Provinces to the United States.  The ratio shall be 2 first nationers deported for every Mexican accepted.

we will take old montreal, the old part of the city near the river and what is the name of the street with all the great strip clubs? We will take that road as well but nothing else.

  • 2017 '16 '15 '14 '12

    Deal!!  You get Montreal.   😄

and I think you mean St Catherine’s street.  To quote star wars “you will never find a more wicked hive of scum and villainy.”

That’s it. How appropriate, St. Catherine’s, the patron saint of titty bars!! I forgot the name, it was many, many years ago.

One of these establishments is located smack across the street from the Eaton Centre, a big retail mall complex the size of a city block situated right downtown, on the part of Ste Catherine street which constitutes one of the area’s most popular shopping areas.  It has a huge outdoor sign, too, so it’s hard to miss, but the locals – who are pretty casual about that sort of thing –  hardly seem to notice it. I sometimes wonder how the tourists exiting the Eaton Centre react when they see it.

    @variance:

Well, I don’t know.  Some of the suburban areas in Longueil (on the South Shore of the island on Monteeal) and Laval (north of the island) are pretty sleazy too, to say nothing of the industrial neighborhood around the western end of St Jacques street.  Lots of motels that rent rooms on an hourly basis, for example – establishments which you most definitely don’t find downtown on Ste Catherine street, which is on the whole a very family-friendly area.

Canada got stuck with Montreal. No wonder they want something else

The plan should be to give Canada back to Mexico, US takes England.

You forgot it probably because you were drunk.

When was Canada part of Mexico?

  • Liaison TripleA '11 '10

Well, the Spanish did settle British Columbia first.

  • '12

Consider this a note of protest. I would like the isle of Montreal to stay right where it is, thanks.

    Yrs.,

  • What would you call the area south of the thruway? North Appalachianville.
Being in upstate New York, I think they should cut off NYC and call it its own state.
I liked it better 30 years ago when it was much easier to go back and forth to Canada but then I lived 8 miles from the border
Yes form a new country and call it Noreasters

All right, but only if you leave out the Irish.

    @Gargantua:

Well, the Spanish did settle British Columbia first.

Well technically Siberians were the first……

As far as Canada being stuck with Montreal, Canada pretty much was Montreal, a few fur trappers and voyageurs and of course… victorious British soldiers.

Ironically the first people to commit genocide in North America, were the Indians.

Back to the OP, I support an independent New England!

    Yes!! I’m 20 miles west of I95.

For the love of god, as a resident of Massachusetts, let me implore you to leave Boston. I understand the whole Montreal thing, but it isn’t worth it, trust me. Canada should just kick Montreal and Quebec out and let them form their own country like they’ve been screaming about for the last 40 years……
