1. Open up “Gatekeeper”
Gatekeeper options are found in Apple menu > System Preferences… > Security & Privacy > General tab under the header “Allow applications downloaded from:”

2. Change “Allow Applications Downloaded From:” to “Anywhere”

3. You should now be able to open and use TripleA (and any other software).

Did you try that?

Also be sure to have the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment installed.
I don’t know which version comes preinstalled with your OS.

@sculpt - Glad its giving you a challenge though as this thread mentions you should update to the latest 1.8.0.9!

The Hard AI does not receive any extra bonuses unless you add them in the settings (so no cheating for it). You can always review its past turns using the history feature to prove that it isn’t cheating (‘Game’ > ‘Show history’). If you are having trouble beating it then I suggest giving yourself a small bid to start with then decreasing that as you play against it more.

Sounds like you aren’t putting in the correct password for your A&A forums account.

If it’s working right, then you should be able to click “test post” prior to your turn and a test post will come up in the appropriate forum thread.

Doublecheck that you have play-by-forum turned on, that you have the right password and account name, and that you have the correct game id in the pbf section.

As long as we’re talking battle calc, how about allowing the user to specify OOL?  Sometimes you want that bomber on defense to be taken last and see how much that changes your chances….

Or to hold subs back and not lose them first.  Can be very significant when you have super subs, like I often do.  :-)

Meanwhile, I will continue to rely on my more detailed and versatile calculator, even though it’s designed for AA50.  It still works better for Global than the TripleA calc, even though it does carriers different and doesn’t have tacs
