• You are introduced to a time machine by your best friend, at that very moment you realize the world is ending, you have time to return back to one date in history. What date do you choose? The machine will only travel back in time and can no change your location.

  • I can’t think of a good answer at the moment, but this sounds a bit like the plot of the Star Trek episode “All Our Yesterdays.”

And miss the end of the world?

Otherwise, the late nineties seems like a good opportunity. I now know what stocks I should have bought, and when to sell them.

  • I think I would go back to October 20th 1356. It would not be long before news of my Country’s great victory over the French was verified and the subsequent celebrations started. England was a rich and happy country under Edward III, despite The Hundred Years War.
I would choose the Middle Ages as I have always loved and enjoyed knightly stories and exploits. Obviously I would probably soon become a warty, diseased peasant, dead by my next birthday, but we cannot have everything!

    Tough question.

Roll the dice? LOL…  Herr KaLeun has it right though.  1995 would be best, buying shares in Yahoo, Google, and “inventing facebook”!

Other than that… Time of Christ?

But isn’t this the Chicken before the egg theorum?  IE take your friend - who is obviously a good-looking babe, and travel back 50,000 years or whatever, to spawn man kind!

  • I want to go into as far in the future as the machine would allow so i can get all the answers about the cosmos. I suspect that would be when the Andromeda galaxy comes crashing into our galaxy and upsets all the orbits of stars and planets. It would be fun to watch.

I would go back to 1997 to the Eden Fest weekend concert festival, and beat the hell out of the guy that sold me bad mushrooms, I ate the whole bag and NOTHING!.

Funny, when you put it like that, you realise that according to creationists, the entire human race is just one big incest trailer park.

…guess that explains a lot about the creationists.

I would go back to the year that my team last won the Stanley Cup! I would have loved to have joined the celebration party in 19…

    …Ah Crap!

  • The 90’s would be awesome to relive. I would enjoy those three Cowboys Championships alittle more than I did. And man, the women!

    Let’s be honest here…

Would anyone be willing to go back to “pre-internet”?  LOL… no.

We all know what came first, the OMELET

Also, you starting mankind, oh boy, how are you gonna tell your descendents about how the world was created? :)

I always thought a great premise for a Sci-Fi movie would be a last chance to save humanity from an alien invasion rested with time travel and one individual with perhaps a few gadgets say 20-50 Kilos worth.  That individual’s diplomacy, information and tactical/strategic acumen is placed back in time in order to jump start technical civilization at a point early enough that we could in time withstand the alien onslaught.

What time and civilization would be picked and how would the change take place?    Perhaps the limits would be any time in the last 3000 years.  Ancient Egypt with a few Ipads teaching the ancients on how to turn copper into wires and electric motors/generators.

  • Go back to the 80’s and bag another dozen chicks in H.S. that I choose to pass on at the time……and then a few more in college that I passed on etc…

Would anyone here use their one traval pass to go back and shot Hittler when he was an art student?

  • I’d go back maybe 5 years and retain the one that got away.  Then I’d be happy even knowing when the world was ending.
