As for Global, I’ve only finished 1 game out of 4, but I already like it better than AA-50. Probably because it’s new and I’ve explored AA-50 to it’s limits. Maybe I’ll see you in the Global league sometime.

The biggest problem with Australia is that it is so far away. I don’t mind losing a bunch of units taking it, but not taking it set me back an entire turn because I had to pull 2 TP’s from Japan and it also delayed my invasion of Africa. Not that it mattered. Even if I hadn’t lost so much down there(losing 2 fig to the DD also really hurt), that battle in Poland would have ended the game anyway. Although, I probably would have been able to get a couple of Japanese fighters in there to help deter that attack.

I haven’t checked out Global yet…. but what others have told me it sounds like it would be fun as well.

Thanks for the game, U-505! Sorry the dice weren’t very forgiving…

(a funny note about Australia. I’ve probably got over 1000 games via CD (classic) in since 1999, and I swear those guys never miss. I used to make sure as Japan that I had FOUR infantry and 2 fighters to take them out (the 2 inf there – thank goodness no AA!). In my casual AA50 game here versus djensen, he sent 2 fighters and both were hit by the aa, so apparently it’s the same no matter what version of the game is played lol…)

I’m in the middle of something so I might be intermittent posting for the next hour or so.

Speaking of my mind being occupied elsewhere. As long as it doesn’t tip off any strategy you may have, if you don’t mind me asking, why didn’t you take your shot at Germany? I didn’t notice I had left it a bit light until a while after I posted Germany’s turn. Even with Italian fighter reinforcement, an attack by the UK followed by the US would have very likely won the game for you.
