TripleA map for Global 1940 Alpha Final

    Just one small cosmetic issue: The figure “32” of SZ 32 is seperated. The “3” is in SZ 32, the “2” is in SZ 30.

    A question. Edit mode doesn’t appear to have the option of placing a damaged BB or CV. Am I missing something somewhere or is it possible to do that?

    i can not fix the engine once it is released, all the fixes are part of the next version (1.6)

    to be more specific, as you know there are 2 files, the map file and the engine

    the map file contains basic information about the map, such as territory connections, who starts with what, etc etc.

    the engine is everything else, it does the rules, etc.

    if there is a problem with the map like a connection error, or a trigger not working, then updating the map can fix that

    if there is a problem with the engine, like movement validation, etc, then updating the engine can fix that

    if there is something that the engine currently does not do, then you will have to update both the engine and the map

    Global was updated today to version 2.9
    (that is the file version)

    You guys all need to redownload it.

    The fixes:

    2.9

    • Allowed Italy and Germany to declare war on Russia seperately, and for Russia to declare war seperately as well.
    • Made Mongolian territories flip to Russian even if Japan attacks but loses against a Russian border territory.
    • Allowed Chinese units to enter Burma and Kwangtung.
    • Made all factories on originally Chinese territories be deleted if China controls them.
    • Added connection between 30 and 31 Sea Zones, and changed map tiles to show a connection.
    • Deleted connection between Newfoundland Labrador and 121 Sea Zone.
    • Deleted connection between Rio de Oro and French West Africa.
    • Added connection between Rio de Oro and Algeria.
    • Deleted connection between Eastern Persia and 79 Sea Zone.

    Everyone needs to download it.

    Make sure that both you and your opponents have it.  If your opponent does not have it, then you might end up playing by the old version….

    you need to click on veqryn’s link to download global

    then you need to open up whatever triple a you are using
    open up maps and move the download global game in there

    then back up and restart triple a

    if that doesn’t work then create a folder “World War II Global”
    unzip global and move everything into your new folder which should be in maps and restart everything

    also I don’t think global future 3 works on 1521 just 1.6
    but it looks like you want 2.9 put in 1521

    uh…. you redownloaded what?

    the MAP is separate from the GAME ENGINE

    if Global was updated, then you only have to redownload the MAP

    if TripleA was updated, then you only have to redownload the ENGINE

    to download the map, use the “Download Maps” button on the main screen of the game, then put in the link, and press “list maps”, then go download global
    the link (put it into triplea, do not open it in a browser):

    3.0 - 3.1

    • Created game option to force tech tokens to be removed after rolling them, regardless of success.
    • Preventing British and UK_Pacific from both rolling for Warbonds. Instead only British will roll, unless their capital is taken, then UK Pacific will.
    • Preventing Kamikaze Suicide Attacks from occuring all the time, now should only occur when there is a battle or an amphibious attack from that sea zone.
    • Created game option that prevent unescorted transports from conducting amphibious assaults.
    • Added PU sign for Okinawa.

    2.9 - 3.0

    • Added all technology to Global 1940.
    • Allowed paratroopers to be moved in a second combat movement phase.
    • Made bonus for Mech Infantry work correctly.
    • Made Rockets go 4 spaces and not fly over neutrals.
    • Allowed UK_Pacific to share the cost of researching technology.
    • Made British share all technology with UK_Pacific.
    • Allowed Convoy Blockades to roll dice (you can turn this off in game options).
    • Allowed Low Luck for Strategy Bombing and Rockets to be set again.
    • Stopped British air units from dying if UK_Pacific was building a factory under them.
    • Forced Tactical Bombers to only be able to target airfields and harbours.
    • Allowed Submarines to enter any sea zone during non-combat, but end movement if there is an enemy Destroyer present.

    Everyone needs to download it.

    This map version 3.1 is for engine 1.6.x only, isn’t it?

    the zip comes with both version 2.9 and version 3.1

    2.9 is for TripleA 1.5.2.1 and later (1.6 and 1.6.1 will play it too)

    while 3.1 is for only TripleA 1.6.1 and later

    Submarines no longer fire a special “sneak attack” shot at unescorted transports that move
    through their sea zone (see page 30 of the Europe Rulebook). Instead, transports are not
    allowed to unload land units for an amphibious assault in a sea zone containing an enemy
    sub(s) belonging to a power with which they are at war unless at least one of his warships was
    also present in the sea zone at the end of the Combat Move phase.

    So the new option has to be activated to check if there is an enemy sub that prevents an unescorted transport from unloading?

    it is activated by default in global 1940 3.1

    also, unless you guys still have games going using triplea 1.6, you can uninstall 1.6

    1.6.1 is all you need (except if you have savegames in 1.5.2.1 and/or 1.6)

    1.6.1 is at least as stable as 1.5.2.1 is, and i plan to re-release it as a stable version if there are major bugs (or with with fixes) in 2 weeks or so

    Hey, sorry to bother you Veqryn, but one of my opponents on 1.5.2.1 keeps generating un-openable maps.  I don’t know if these files will tell you anything, but if you have time to take a look, let me know if there’s anything he/we can do to fix it.

    He has not had any trouble opening my maps in this match, and all of my maps posted normally.

    Hi Verqyn,

    Wheatbeer has posted my maps above.

    I’ve been having the same problem sporadically in other games as well. I’m running 1.5.2.1.

    As a work-around, I’ve been trying to save as PBEM games, Local games with a “.0” at the end of the ID, and also without. No one way seems to be working, but I’ve managed to save some maps that have been openable by doing this.
