Thanks, that helps a lot. I would still like to have the missing and altered pieces/ sculpts. Basically it was a labeling mistake by the seller. On the other hand, sending it back and looking for another offer is too much hassle. Maybe I can fix it with a 3D print :-)
I’ve known Axis & Allies for a long time, but the Europe and Pacific versions somehow slipped past me. They’re really well improved compared to the rather simple world version.

TripleaA lobby is seeing a lot of bids between 16-24 on average? In LL I agree with what’s been said, I really am starting to come to the conclusion that even mid-20s makes it a very tough match for Allies. I am not surprised the league is going higher than that. But I really do think you need to guage the skill level of your opponent. If you get a newbie in your triplea lobby, maybe cut them a break. It’s the somewhat experienced guys that always throw me, strong for about 3-5 rounds but then don’t really have any mid-game strategy experieince. It’s hard to know how much to bid in those cases too.

But anyway, back to what units are getting bought: Subs/DDs around the Med for UK. Sometimes fighters for UK (Scotland, Malta). Other threads have answered this question as well, from recent memory: Inf in Yunnan for example, and ground units in africa.

Less often variations: Russia bomber, UK transport in South Africa. UK sub in Malaya. I’ve also seen Subs in the north atlantic.

Some people dump a bunch of ground units in Russia. Whether or not that actually does anything I doubt.

I bet that it will be fun and that it is possible to learn a lot. But honestly I don’t have the time to spare for another game.

We play with four people via mail with about one turn per week. So it is a quite slow game. Some people play and test their turns a lot, but I mae my turn in 30min without double checking.

Buy mech/armor at a 1-1 ratio, simple as that from g2 onward. You pretty much should get russia G5 6 or 7

Territory has to be worth 3, yes. Also, in 2nd Edition rules, only the original owner can make
a Major on a territory worth 3 or more. So they couldn’t, no.

I think if I would’ve waited one more turn, I wouldn’t be succesful in capturing the UK as he was building nothing but infrantry to reinforce it. Facing another 10 infrantry would’ve been devastating to my invading forces as a lost a lot of airforce too taking out the Royal Navy. It had to happen turn 3. If by then the Russian attack would’ve come turn 4, I would have been able to release some pressure and that would’ve made an easier game. But I’ll keep this US invasion strategy in mind for another game and when the oppurtunity gives itself, I will post it here. Thank you for listening hehe :)

TASK FORCE 156

Now if you want to build a versatile multi-purpose Task Force to be based at seazone 26 by the end of turn 3, you would go like this:

First you would commit 1 Battleship, 1 Cruiser, 1 Trsp and 1 Carrier with Ftr/Tac from sz 10. The Destroyer must go to sz 8 as blocking ship. Then you commit 1 Cruiser, 1 Trsp and 1 Sub from sz 26. The Destroyer must go to sz 25 as blocking ship. You will also commit 1 Cruiser and 1 Trsp from sz 101, 2 Inf, 1Art and 1 Ftr from Western US and 1 Inf, 1 Art and 1 Ftr from Eastern US.

T1 you purchase 1 Carrier, 1 Destroyer and 1 Sub in sz 10, 1 Tank and 1 Ftr in Central US and 1 Sub in sz 101.

T2 you purchase 1 Carrier and 2 Destroyers in sz 10 and 2 Ftr’s in Central US.

T3 you move all ships to sz 26 and purchase 1 DD in sz 10, 2 Ftr’s in W.US and 2 Bombers in C.US.

Now you have in sz 26:
1 Battleship
3 Carriers with 5 Ftr’s and 1 Tac
3 Cruisers
3 Destroyers
3 Subs
3 Trsp with 3 Inf, 2 Art and 1 Tank
3 Ftr’s on Hawaii that may scramble during defense or switch with carrier-planes during attack.

The units in sz 26 will defend with 63 pips, and together with the new aircrafts in US attack (land based planes switch places with carrier based planes) attack adjacent seazones with 70 pips. This fleet will absorb 4 hits before they start taking casualties, and it will roll 3 pre-emptive dices in the first round of combat.

This Task Force may also Ampibious Assault adjacent islands with 9 land units pips, 13 Shore Bombard pips and 19 aircraft support pips, for a total of 41 attacking pips.

This Task Force cost 156 IPC’s.
