History of the World

I was stumbling around the internet and found this interesting looking game: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/224/history-of-the-world
Has anyone played it before and if so what was it like? -
I own the newer AH version with the plastic pieces. It’s a pretty good light game, but it works best with 5 or 6 players. It’s pretty meh with 3 or less.

Seem to recall they fixed some issues with the original. A fun game. Always wanted to add more epochs using Axis & Allies, Fortress America and Risk 2210 units.

I own a copy of the game. As with a lot of games, I bought it for the pieces. The troop pieces are disappointing because their plastic isn’t very compatible with A&A: the plastic has a glossy, semi-translucent appearance, and the colour shades don’t work well in my opinion. The British-looking pieces with pith helmets have some usefulness as colonial troops. One unexpected bonus, however, is that the little grey triumphal arches work nicely as markers for A&A victory cities.
