New rule idea for ship damage

    So normally if a ship is damaged (roll of 2), it is immediately sent back to base where it can be repaired for 1 supply. Has anyone tried the idea of marking a ship as damaged but allowing it to still fight? You could reduce combat values by one and restrict special abilities like launch / recover aircraft, shore attack, etc. If you want to repair the vessel, you must sail back to base where it is repaired for free (since you have to get it there and it is a quick game).

    Thoughts? I may look to incorporating this idea into my upcoming Midway game.



  • It would be easy to mark them, you could simply tip them on their sides like in revised / classic 2 hit battleships.

    I think I’ll try this, but I will still require that payment be made to repair them.
