One small change mentioned was that during an SBR raid you roll all defence dice together for the AAGun and then choose your losses as opposed to rolling for each type of Aircraft.
Its pretty much aligning SBRs with the way other battles work.
I’m not quite sure what you mean. Where did you see this?
I would like a normal battle–roll 1s for all attacking bombers and escorts, 2 for defending fighters. One round and pick losses as normal. Then choose targets for the bombers, subject bombers to AA gun fire, then roll damage. It’s one less step and gives a better chance of bombers getting through when there are interceptors. I’ve seen one player try a dedicated bombing strategy with England in my last dozen games, and it ended in disaster for Germany just as would be expected with the bombers being shot down every time.
With this rule, Germany could usually get in a couple runs at England before attrition makes it too risky. That’s a much better situation than England never fearing air raids for the entirety of the game.
