I’m locking enrollment here.
I think we’ll shoot for qualifying to start around Oct 1.
Games will be
Revised (LHTR) - same rules as league/tournaments here. No Tech. Bid for Axis.
AA50-41 - same rules as league/tournaments here. National Objectives. No Tech. Bid for Allies
G40 (Alpha +2) - same rules as current tournament. No Tech. Bid for Axis.G40 Note: We will be playing Alpha 2 throughout the World Cup. It is tested and I don’t like changing rules mid stream.
I’ll breakout the teams and brackets. If you don’t wish to continue due to rules/time (or for any reason) just say so and your opponent will advance.
We will do qualifying matches to narrow the field to the following:

Team US 2
Team Commonwealth (Canada +NZ)
Team EU 1So next year Team US 1 and US 2 will play for the US spot and Team Commonwealth and Team EU will play for the International spot. The US winner will then play the International winner.

For the US Revised and EU Revised, we will need a way to narrow down the players. I’m not sure if rolling for Byes with 3 players is fair. We have time to think about it though.
Please don’t start any games yet.
Remember you can’t represent your team in more than one game. For example, if you win both the AA50 and G40 qualifying tournament for your team you’ll need to pick which version you wish to play and then the 2nd place player (from the qualifying tournament) would play the version you didn’t want to play.
I want to leave this up for a few weeks to see if players drop out before we start.
If all goes well maybe we can wrap up Qualifying by Feb/March and get the Teams into action next Spring/Summer.

I have a solution for the problem of having 3 players for revised in Europe.
As mentioned before i rather play revised then G40.
On the other hand i can play all 3 so add me to revised and problem solved. :-DLet me know.

What about making teams (by people agreement for instance), and let the teams fight each other to qualify the last round ?

I actually thought about that, but ultimately figured it be easier to just do some play in games. It worked out real good with lots of 4’s and 8’s.

I updated the field adding in GI_Joe for EU Revised and taking JWW out of US Revised.
We are pretty much set to go with the field. At this point if anyone else can’t continue their opponent would just advance with a “bye”.

Yep, I don’t want to play competitive AA50 (way unbalanced). Still, I could change my mind with G40 OOB if Larry makes alpha series definitive (I’m not a WOTC tester) :-)
Note that I said G40 OOB. And also that I’d only accept play alpha if was confirmed as definitive version. Since we’re going to play alpha 2, and that version is not definitive (or even ‘updated’), I’m not going to play G40 in this case (I retire from G40 contest). A pity, but it’s a matter of principles

Yep, you’d play GI_Joe in Revised. We will probably start sometime in the fall, maybe sometime in Oct. I’m waiting a little bit so we can get a little further along in the current tourneys and give players a chance to focus on league games (if needed) as the season comes to an end.
