if you count the regular income from all nations together you come up to 149 IPCs. With the national Objectives you get an possible additional income of somewhat around 90 IPC at maximum. So if noone saves any money ever the maximum you’ll need at one point is somewhere around 240 IPCs. Now you might want to count in some savings and the possibility to change between the different denominations.
I guess to be on the sure side you should have about 350 IPCs. How many of which denominations depends a bit on what you and your buddies prefer. Would you want to have more then 10 1-IPC-bills? Or do you change those anyway to a 5 or 10-IPC-bill? And so on

In Alpha 2, does the ussr still got the 2 infantry bonus when at war with germany.
Second
Does the Us still get the 30 ipc bonus in alpha 2 when at war, in addition to the ipc bonus from No 1 and 5?
Thx a lot guys!

No. (In OOB, this troop bonus applies only to the Europe game, not to the Global game.)

The US doesn’t get a 30 IPC bonus when at war in addition to its NOs in any version of the rules. The statement on page 10 of the Europe Rulebook that says the United States collects an additional 30 IPCs when it declares war is simply a reference to its National Objectives. It is not meant to imply a one-time additional bonus.

But even in alpha 2 Europe the USSR still gets the 2 infantry in Novosibirsk, right? There’s a house rule that says the USSR gets +9 IPCs to spend wherever instead of the 2 units, but I don’t see that in the alpha 2 revision so it cannot really be counted as part of alpha 2. Or can it?

At this point, there are no “official” Alpha rules for the Europe or Pacific games, so any way that you play them with Alpha is technically playing with house rules.

We were strictly following the setup, rules and NOs from Larry’s thread on A2:
http://harrisgamedesign.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=4167We didn’t want to make stuff up since the stuff we’d make up would naturally benefit the person coming up with it!
Too many rule differences are confusing and has caused many arguments while playing. That’s why we decided to stick to rules Larry came up with - OOB, A1 or A2.
