Leningrad or Stalingrad

  • Which one should be Germany’s main target, out of the two……  :?

  • Early on, I do what I can to or hold or at least deadzone Karelia so I can maintain my NO with Karelia. After that, so much depends on what the Allies are doing. If the Allies manage to hold Karelia and I don’t think I can take it back, then I’ll push south for Caucuses. Usually it means holding Ukraine, then Eastern Ukraine to get Caucuses without a fight. Even if you can’t get Caucuses, it keeps the Soviets on the defensive.

  • Add some ships to the Baltic Fleet. Take and hold Karelia. Really that is all you need to know about the 1942 scenario.

  • So if Russia were to sink said fleet with his planes R1, it would stop this strategy?

  • @Wilson2:

    not necessarily.

The Germans in 1942 have enough boots on the ground to be able to spend some money on a navy, even if they lost their starting cruiser and destroyer
