I didn’t realize that transports couldn’t be destroyed in amphibious assaults with no sea combat. That information actually saves me a lot of IPC each turn, since I thought I needed to buy three new transports every turn when offloading units from the transport during an amphibious assault in the previous turn.
Thanks for all of the detailed information. This should help make the next game I have with my cousins more challenging for them!
Tnx for the tips. I have already considering the tech developments. But the other senarios and the national advantages seem great to. Maybe i will try them in the future.
I would not add all of the extras at once. Maybe do tech development for a few games then add in a couple of the National Advantages then later after a few more games add in the National Objectives.
For the NAs we roll a couple of dice and the numbers that come up are the ones we use. If we roll doubles then we just re-roll one of the die to get a different number. Look at this for an idea on how to use the advantages: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/prod/axis This is the rule book for the Revised version which is the one that 1942 replaced so the NAs are a little different. Look at page # 35 for appendix 3: Option Rules just for some ideas on how to pick which ones to use.
We know that the map territories will be exactly the same as revised. We know that the naval rules from AA50 will be implemented in AA42. It has not been confirmed that all the other rules from AA50 will make it into AA42. My guess is that all rules from AA50 will enter the new AA42, with possible exceptions of the 4 optional rules in AA50.
At this time it’s only speculations, but it would be cool if also the optional rules from AA50 will replace the current revised rules.
At least we won’t have a broken China in AA42 😄 🙂
no new territories than revised???
would of loved some changes, like bigger north africa
but do like 1 thing bout revised map that i hate in AA50: scandinavia
(5 IPC is to much, and you can’t control it with germany for more than 2 rounds max)
