• I have a retreat question.  The axis has tanks that blitzed and are wedged between a northern and southern controlled allied hex.  Now it seems that if they are forced to retreat they would be destroyed because the EZOC extends to thier escape route.  But there are German troops in the hex and it is behind the front line.

So I guess my question is, does EZOC extend behind enemy front lines as well?  Thanks for the help, hope my question made sense.

Seems if this is the case, then blitzing would be very risky/somewhat useless due to the fact that retreats become losses.

  • Official Q&A

Enemy zones of control are unaffected by the front lines or the presence of friendly units.  Yes, blitzing can be risky, but it can also be quite rewarding, as it can cut off your opponent’s retreats as well.  Many times it all depends on who wins the initiative roll.
