A&A '42 Errata?

The “chunk of land” in question has no name, and is therefore not a game space.  If it were connected to United Kingdom (which it isn’t), the rules for islands wouldn’t apply, as United Kingdom would not then be “a single territory surrounded entirely by one or more sea zones” (Eire would keep it from being so).  In any case, it’s a moot point, as neutral territories may not be entered in this game, and there are no sea zones that touch the unnamed land mass that don’t also touch United Kingdom.

In 1940, the same land mass is connected to Scotland by virtue of the UK emblem straddling (and obscuring) the sea between them, as CWO Marc pointed out.  In this case, land units can move between Eire and Scotland without the use of transports, and it is relevant, as neutral territories are not off-limits in that game.

GTO only has the Revised and 42 editions.  Perhaps you are confusing Revised with Anniversary.

Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve been on GTO. Are the Anniversary rules much different from Spring 1942?

I just located a place that can print my maps on mouse pad material!!  from 4 to 10 feet long.

This is something that i have been looking for and the resolution is fantastic.

I got two new maps in production to finalize the quality.

This by far is the best method. It will never bend and will stay flat and make it easier to moves pieces. This is because the pliable nature of the material gives a bit. This makes picking up tokens easier.

I voted the DD, it is the backbone of every defensive or mixed fleet.

The CC imho is the least usefull unit, but still has some use in large fleets. The question always is, why buy a CC and a DD with 20 IPC when the same money can get you a BB. Well, the answer is fleet volume.
When playing Dice, you can get lucky or unlucky. But, no matter how lucky you get, one BB will only get you one hit (in att or def) while one CC and one DD, if you are lucky, will get you two hits. So, for every second BB I buy, I prefer adding some pure volume in my fleets by bying a DD and a CC.

Another equivalent is to buy 2 SS and one DD, but when def is a primary concern and volume is needed, 2 SS are no more than fodder, given the attacker will have a DD (or else his air hits won t be assigned on the SS, and they will be useless even for fodder…).

The optimum setup for a mixed fleet (for example a US2 pacific fleet aiming for south pacific in US3) is 4 SS, 3 DD, 1 CC, 2 AC loaded, 1 BB, 2 TT (carrying 4 inf). Total IPC cost 82 (buy US1 2 AC, DD, SS, US2 1 ftr, 1 TT+1 inf, 2 SS, DD).

So using the Atlantic sub on UK fleet rather than the undefended transport with  Norway fighter and bomber for the UK home fleet. I see it now. Guess i was foamin at the mouth on the unprotected trans.  thank you
