well, just to show you medicine isnt so exact.  you can be pronounced brain dead and then be perfectly fine later.  wasnt schiavo pronounced brain dead.

and anyone remember a year ago with the polish man in a 18 year coma. God bless his faithful wife for looking after him for 18 years and he woke from it.  He said he was so happy to be alive and that his wife didnt kill him.

well, usually the pop culture just likes to get rid of inconveniences and damn the consequences of actions……ever.  it should make people think about it more.  there is something to be said for the sanctity of life, and people shouldnt worry about other matters except their loved ones well being.  if only this story was around during the schiavo fiasco, it could’ve changed some minds.  but the husband with another wife and family won, and recieved his million dollars.

Something interesting I learned from the head of the Illinois Organ Donation list:  In order to donate your organs you CANNOT BE PRONOUNCED DEAD.  You must be alive to be harvested.  Evidentally, being dead does something nasty to your organs in very short order, they have to be removed while you are alive and placed on ice to have a chance.

More interesting, we have the ability to seed people with pig organs and those organs, if done correctly (specifically seeded with your own cells) have a much higher acceptance rate then organ transplants or even stem cell transplants.

Even more interesting, scientists are able to make blank stem cells (just like the ones ripped from embryos) from your own skin now.  Before they were only able to use stem cells from bone marrow and other places for a few specific applications.  For instance, a stem cell from the brain could be used for nervous system.  From bone to endocrine system.  From muscle to muscular system.

Funny thing is, that’s the research that Pres. Bush funded.  :)

But back to Shiavo, there’s a few doctors now who think if she had been allowed to live she may have been restored to a functioning, but not perfect, life now.

Why do you think they keep coma patients on life support or why people pay for cryogenics?  Medical science is growing by leaps and bounds every day.  Any day could see the cure for cancer, the genetic modification that will end muscular dystrophy in the womb, the vaccine preventing Influenza in the human population for life!

Why anyone would willing want to murder someone for any reason is nuts.  I can almost understand murdering someone who is “brain dead” if there was no way to keep up their care without hurting your own children or self.  But Shaivo had an organization footing the bills, so that wasn’t an issue, not really.

the “right to kill” side of the spectrum went haywire and were only satisfied when her last breath was taken.  then they retreated to await the opportunity to rejoice at more indefensible unborns, elderly, or medically incompacitated people being killed for the sake of convenience.

Don’t forget their rejoicing at each death of an American soldier!  To them it’s just one less Republican in their way to Socialist Paradise!

  • Coma is not the same as brain dead.

Terri Schiavo was brain dead for 15 years and had not improved (worsened in fact) and was found that improvement was not possible.  Anyone saying so is simply retarded.  Her husband was her guardian and was respecting what he thought was her wishes which were corroborated by a court with expert testimony, including her own physician.

The problem was jackasses using the government to intervene in people’s lives, and a determined family that just wouldn’t give up.  That’s the disgrace here.

It’s sad to lose a loved one, but nothing could have come leaving her in a vegetative state and disrespecting her wishes or the person acting upon such in her stead.  Furthermore, all those self-righteous jackasses abusing their power in the government to intervene in something like this should be ashamed of themselves.

Don’t forget the Christians rejoicing the murder of every Muslim child across the globe.
Don’t forget Schiavo could’ve played an excellent part in a Colgate toothe paste commercial.
Don’t forget the Nazis er…. I mean Republicans want to make a corporate monarchy out of capitalism and send the children of the poor into a war they created… to them it’s just one less Democrat, Independent, Green,… let’s just say, Non-Nazzzzz.z…zz…zerrrrrrrRRepublican on their way to a Starbucks-Gas sucking-Jesus-MacDonalds (<
