  • By the way - I completely recognize that my fortune in the Belarus battle last turn saved me from a G5 loss of Moscow, and maybe saved me the game. I set myself up for a mutual annhilation battle, with Russian aircraft surviving… to have been able to strafe and fall back into my AA guns and a couple infantry was something I never would have dreamed of.

    It took me about 4 hours to muster the courage to fight the battle in the first place - I knew it would dictate the survival of Russia.

    You’ve been a good sport about it, and I hope the dice tilt your way at some point to even things up.


  • Yeah, I expected better out of that battle. But I knew if you did attack that the Russian front would devolve into a battle of attrition (one that at this point in the game Germany could better afford). Still, it’s not like Russia’s looking all that healthy despite those good dice.

  • Well, that’s the first bomber of mine shot down to aa in like 6+ games . . . and I’m a firm believer in SBR so I do it often. (especially as axis!)


  • I think it’s one of my least favorite feelings in the game… I just had the same thing happen against allweneedislove… I need every German bomber I can get against him!  :-)

    What sucked was that my bomber that made it through only rolled a 2 for damage… makes you feel like it’s not worth it.

    SBRs are an important part of the game, and worth the risk. They can really cripple someone just at the right (or wrong) moment.
