• I saw that D.B Cooper is a topic on History Channel’s Pawn Stars. Thought we should discuss the topic.

  • I love this story…it’s one of those great mysteries out there (like the JFK assasination…oh wait, we already know how that ends…  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlWyFDec2rA)

I believed while he did survive the jump, he was injured on the landing…The weather and the darkness and the terrain AND the time of year would have made the landing difficult even for an experienced jumper to land well.  He may have had only a few days to get to a town, but his wounds probably became infected…and he later died… with the money still out there!

Don’t want to divulge, but  this one is for Gargantua and his Axis fetish!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R5QzX29sSs&feature=related

I’ve never heard of him but Pawn Stars is my favorite show.  I usually watch it Tuesdays because I work nights. Looking forward to hearing all about this guy.

It’s one of the coolest stories and the fact that the case is unsolved adds to the story.

  • I think D.B. Cooper teamed up with Amelia Earhart, Martin Bormann and Jimmy Hoffa to form a top-secret Mission Impossible / A-Team kind of covert operations unit, which carried out special undercover jobs on behalf of various governments.  After all, who could possibly suspect four people who were all believed to be dead?

    CWO’s got it down!  LOL…

But remember - D.B. Cooper used a -home made- parachute.

Let’s see how another famous -home made- parachute worked?

  • I’ve read much about this mystery, as well as others.

If I recall correctly, some money was found by a boy many years later in a creek bed in the supposed area he jumped.  They were too decayed to be in circulation, but I believe serial numbers or something were matched.  It was only a fraction of what he had jumped with, though.

Additionally, a woman came forth saying she believed her uncle  (or maybe great uncle) was D.B. Cooper based on the story, his personality, and just some odd circumstances that seemed to be more than coincidence.  I think he had died and that’s why she put her story forth, but I don’t remember what came of it.

Kind of in a related vein, there was a guy recently that was offering evidence to the FBI and police departments in regards to the unsolved cases of the Zodiac Killer and the Black Dahlia.  He proposes that his father (or maybe stepfather) is the killer in all of those cases, as well as the killer of victims not yet discovered in the southwest for decades.  It was interesting and plausible, but I’m not sure it turned out?  Gonna go google it now…

I thought they found the Zodiac killer?  (Or atleast arrested someone for the crimes - who may have been innocent?)

I’ll also have to read into this… :)

I know on the FBI website, there are a few unsolved Cryptograms they have released to the general public - for help in solving…  I gave some of them a try, but lol… forget it.
