When i opened the japanese box i was a bit surprised by how many pieces were there, i guess it works out the same considering that the uk and the us are divided on 2 boards. Has taken me a while, still have some minor details to finish but available to look at.

Those are excellent!  Love the tanks especially - nice camo, aircraft as well.  Know what you’re saying about the sheer numbers to be painted, at a glance it is daunting…

  • Just curious, Dangermouse, why didn’t you post a link that was working ?
Now I have to do a lot of work if I wanna have a look.
    Just saying.

  • '21 '18 '17 '15

Cause this stupid forum wont let me post links, copy link and paste onto the www in your address bar
Ok i have just made a link, click the website icon on the left under my profile name, that should take you there…

  • Awesome painting job, I’ve fallen so in love with it, I’m going to paint all mine as well!

question, where did you find the stands for the fighters/bombers.  I saw some stands like those on a website but wasn’t sure the size needed :(

  • '21 '18 '17 '15

The stands i made with furniture buttons and a nail. My carriers and planes have magnets on them so they stick to both.  :-) I did buy stands from 2 different places but the bases take up too much room, so the furniture buttons work well, got the idea from another fellow who painted his units…. :-D

  • Very Awesome mate! I love the desert colors, very very cool, I’d love to do this myself and hopefully I’ll be able to find the time.
I was wondering about the stands myself. Are they rubber that you paint? Also, is that a bi-plane I see in with your french pieces?

Also, if you were wondering why Japan has so few Tac Bombers it’s because the Pacfic game ships with 6 less and the wrong battle board. If you e-mail Wizards of the Coast they should send you replacements. I was able to get mine without having to provided a recpit. Simply explained I’d gotten the games as a christmas present.

As I’m not allowed to post links either go to Wizards.com and under contact us there is an e-mail selection on the left side click it and then in the search bar type in “Axis & Allies Pacific” And you should be able to find it.

Fantastic work! I noticed the bi planes as well and want to know… plus in the US air fleet there are P-40s and P-51s. What’s up there? Did you modify some Spitfires and MiGs? You must let us know as they came out great!

Thanks fellas, the extra planes i got through  " brookhursthobbies dot com" and “tumblingdice dot com”, yes swordfish and typhoons for the brits, america just wasn’t complete without p40’s p51’s and corsairs, there are 2 avengers there as well. Have recently received some b25’s, p47’s and some french d520’s to add to the mix. I found the site through reference from one of the other fellow painters here and have enjoyed expanding my collection. Lots more parts to come yet.
Thanks for the info carnage, have just sent them an email.
My aircraft stands, i originally drilled little holes in the aircraft to mount them on the nails but then it formed on me to just use the magnets like i do on the carriers and the fighters. The magnet is a rubber strip less than 1mm thick.

  • magnet on one side and sticky on the other, i was wondering how ya did that with the carriers as well… mmm

Love those corsairs especially - and the biplanes, awesome.  But what site are those from?  I couldn’t seem to find either at Brookhurst… and are they plastic?

Looking that the sites I’m having trouble finding all the pieces I’d want; this is kindof a personal question but a) I’m sure I’m not the only one wonder and b) it’ll save me some time. Not inluding paints and brushes what did the mini’s cost to purchase in total? Feel free no to answer, it is personal, I could just see myself getting addicted to doing this and I’d like to know what I’m getting into ;).

I can’t even find those pieces on those sites…

  • Me either :( I just wasn’t man enough to admit it… I attribute it to my inability to ask for directions.

" Carnage", costs can mount up, yes i am an addict  :-D i could quite easily spend hundreds if i had it to spare…… :-D I have probably spent about $150 to $200 so far on acquiring extras and decals, brushes and paints, well maybe around the $60 mark. My son tends to use a bit more paint than i do  :-)
“Viracocha” and “Carnage”, at  Brookhursthobbies dot com click on miniatures games, then tumbling dice. The planes are metal…  With so many to choose from it is easy to get carried away, for the Brits i chose the swordfish because it played a major part in the early war years with the fleet air arm,  Bismark and Taranto, i am also thinking of a gloster gladiater for Malta, anybody read about “faith , hope and charity”? I also have some hurricanes to paint up.   :-D

  • Once I click on miniatures games I don’t see tumbling dice as any of my options anywhere on the page. I’m beginning to feel slightly retarded.

  • '21 '18 '17 '15

Oops, my bad, sorry, forgot to mention, click on historical
try this with all the www            brookhursthobbies.com/Product-Listing.cfm?C=4&D=1302&N=10&M=TUMBLING DICE

  • Oh lawdz…. My wife isn’t going to be happy with you DM. Not once she sees my shopping list.

All it has by way of photo is the tumbling dice logo, there a way I can see the mini I’ll purchase before it arrives at my door?

I assume I’m looking for the 1/600 scale for everything to stay uniform with my current AA pieces?

Also, something I just noticed when taking another look at your mini’s; how could you taint your British units by painting a French flag on them! shame shame!

  • Customizer

Ah! Cheers Dangermouse.  Oh man… they are metals… I’ve resisted the urge to convert to all metals for years (I have leads and pewters for A LOT of other games… just been trying to avoid it for A&A).  Ok… I think my wallet is safe (for now), going to stick with plastics and A&A (ohhh… but the urge is still there…).

Carnage - That’s not the French flag, the colours are in the wrong order, and it’s also one of the flags the U.K. used - goes well on naval units I think, as it gives the impression of signal flags in my opinion.

About not asking for directions - yeah… was feeling the same way.  But we’re talking about minis so I was able to swallow my pride and ask eh eh eh.  If I was driving on the freeway on the other hand, I would have of course kept silent and remained lost…

  • I’m discovering my ignorance in the world of Mini’s… I can’t see pictures of what I’d like to buy, also can’t find everything I want. Can you buy replacement Aircraft Carriers as well? I was thinking they’d be great if I could get metal copies of them, that way I wouldn’t need to attach a magnetic strip to keep my aircraft on them. Am I correct in looking for 1/600 scale models?
Be gentle, my ignorance is showing, and I’m very sensitive.
