• I downloaded version 1.2 of triple A, but I only see game options; Big world, Great war, Capture the flag and minimap New world order…could someone tell me what version of Triple A I should download to get the boardgame versions off Revised, Anniversary and pacific?

    Thanks!

  • keep in mind it doesn’t work quite yet.

I’ve been thinking more about a Triple A version of this…  Admittedly I’ve never PBE for a game, so I don’t know all the logistics, but from my experience with the revised version on facebook back before they started charging was that losses were assigned by rather simple rules (cheapest/weakest and subs auto submerge or not) if the defender wasn’t online.  I assume that TripleA works much the same, but please correct me if I’m wrong.  With the increase in defender decisions (Kamikazee, scrambling, escorts, and the AA50 sub rules for planes) I can’t imagine being able to play a combat without NEEDING imput from the defender for a large portion of the game.  Is there a satisfactory PBE solution for this?

At least now Convoy interdiction is automatic now, as you can’t declare it against someone unless you were already at war and can’t use it to declare war (errata revision 3) so that strategic option of surprising a power on their collect income phase is gone.  But how the devil will scrambling work??

  • @MaherC:

let’s hope.  pac40 isn’t worth the time to setup just to see the allied player go….hmmmm for an hour and quit.

Sounds like you need a better allied player  :-D

  • when pac40 & tripleA work together you can show me just how to dominate as Allied.

  • Oh I am without a doubt, not the best allied player out there.  But I’m sure with a larger pool of players the better allied strats will begin to surface.

  • First of all, big round of applause for all triple A developpers… I played Triple A game versions for some time now, just to try out some strategies. That said, the last year I haven’t been around following the actual developments and updates.

That’s why I was quite confused with the newest downloads, renaming of the games etc. Thanks to y’all I’m back on track!

Here’s a question about the development of Pacific 1940:
I understand how hard it is to get everything right, that will take a lot of effort and time. But…is it also hard/difficult to create a version in which you can move all units to where-ever you want? That would ofcourse not be a good playable version, but a very nice strategy-try out version. I could then move ships and planes according to the rules (airbases, navalbases, scrambling etc.) by myself.

    Like to hear the (im)possibilities.

    Thanks a lot.

There is an edit version, which if you turn it on, you can remove and add units, and some other features.

  • Thanks, will try that…

…such as changing territory ownership, every nation’s amount of IPC’s etc.

It works great to save an unfinished game when your playgroup gets tired, or…as you are looking for…to test certain strats.

The one thing I do miss is to edit tech and damage.
