  • I was thinking that I had to shut down Italy and contest Germany, or else Europe would be lost. It was a long, fierce struggle for Gibraltar. My mistake was of course to lose the 11 tr in z91. You were unbelievably lucky throughout with attritional battles, which I believe helped Axis a lot.
