This game is so cool. I am truly enjoying it :)
My first time tryin this (entire) strategy. I suppose its more or less unique, and that U havent met if before.
@Amon-Sul Yeah, I haven’t seen this kind of early pressure on Japan before. Its a challenge. And I think I was already a little sloppy on my J2 despite spending a lot of time thinking about it. But of course the danger of this approach is what happens in Europe.

Well, I was refering to my UK strategy as well.
I usually do not allow Italians to take Egypt, and do not have so much air and sea units in the Med.
My default strategy before was attacking Taranto on UK1.
And i suppose U dont buy Yugo airfield on G1 often.

I sometimes do. I do try to protect the Italian fleet as much as I can (and especially if Taranto isn’t done.) A reason I always want the Germans to take Yugo is to make sure that they can share the spending load with the Italians in defending it.
The British carrier was an interesting bid. And it changes the situation in the Med a fair bit. I had thought you would more likely go for Taranto since it entailed either a more difficult trade for the German air after or that you could do Taranto and keep a portion of hte British fleet alive.
I didn’t expect you to retreat from Egypt. I didn’t count the odds but was pretty sure you could hold it. I’ll be curious to see how that plays out. But in Europe I feel I have more room to maneuver than I do in the Pacific where I think Japan is already struggling. But still an early game.
Will likely get to my turn tomorrow (although I am due to play the turn in my other game first).
Well, my plan was to threaten the Adriatic heavily, but the problem with parking the UK fleet there is that that battle is always risky + the Axis can choose to scramble or choose to not to.
Other maybe even crucial problem is that i cant hold Greece. Even if I take it, Italy and/or Germany can retake it, and if U attack my navy in the Adriatic i have a problem with my planes unable to land, so i have to keep ACs undamaged till the end of the battle, which severely decreaces my odds.
Then i decided to stack in sz 93 since i can merge with French dudes there.
But U ve decided to trigger Vichy to prevent it, all though it cost U a fig, and will cost U some IPCs (allies taking French territories).
But u gain early gains with destruction of my French navy, and with IPCs and units in NW Africa.
Then, my plan was slightly disrupted, and I was planing to attack Adriatic, but with Ur blocker and Yugo airfield U were able to prevent it.
I am not sure if i could defend Egypt. Maybe I would, but then I would have my navy much more exposed to ur forces.
I decided to go this way. We shall see if it payes out.
If i understood well from Ur posts, some dude attack Yugo with Italy?
Yeah, i like the Egypt AC bid. It gives a lot of options to UK.

Yeah, i like the Egypt AC bid. It gives a lot of options to UK.
Yeah. Its an option I see sometimes. I used to do it as well when I did a G2 DOW since you could attack Yugo with Germany and then retreat German units East so that they are at the front quicker.
And I wasn’t planning on Vichy, but your setup forced me into it.
Yes, I know U havent planned Vichy, but my UK sz 93 move was the trigger for U to go for it I suppose.
And this thing with moving units to Romania via Yugo on G1. Interesting.
A perfect move for Japan. Without a single casualty.

Now i see why I decided to evac Egypt. I was planning to pull my navy to sz 92, and stack Egypt with plains. But the problem was, U could take Algeria with Italy, and then all of Ur German air could attack sz 92 and land in Algeria.
In other words, to save Egypt I would have to leave the Med with UK fleet.

and other thing was Sea Lion. If i moved the navy out of Med, but entire airforce to Egypt, it could jeopardise London too.
But key reason was the navy being still held in the Med. Was i wrong with that decision, time will tell.
