99% sure open communication is allowed. The extent to which it’s allowed is up to you, though. With my play-group we cut it off at “talk of general strategy is allowed, anything more specific is not.” We do it this way because of bad experiences where multi-player games would devolve into the “good” Axis Player and the “good” Allies Player forcing their teammates to obey their orders on what to do each turn, effectively turning the game into a 1v1 with a peanut gallery. That’s not much fun for anyone.

I own the OOB original versions of Europe and Pacific…I’m playing soon on a 2nd edition ( so can’t wait!! ). I said I’d help with extra pieces like game Chips from my game.
Question is simple: does the original game that I own Chips inter lock with the 2nd edition Chips when stacked on top of each other?

For the combinations of Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940, first editions and Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940, second editions - yes.
For the combination of 1942, first edition and 1942, second edition - no.
The difference betwixt the 1940 compatibility and the 1942 incompatibility may be what lead you to ask, in my opinion.

Global 1940 IS the combination of Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940. So, yes, as I previously stated, the first editions and the second editions of the games that make up Axis & Allies 1940 Global have compatible chip types.
I know this because I own both the first editions of Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940 and the second editions of Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940, therefore causing me to own the first and second editions of Axis & Allies Global 1940.
