    The main problem with the strategy is that it doesn’t solve China’s problems for certain. In our three first games with me as Axis I simply fiddled and let you control Yunnan. In our third I improved a little with Japan, focusing on controlling Kwangtung. In this game I’ve simply disallowed China to control Yunnan, until too late. Japan will eventually crush that key area and UK-Pac is sold out.

    Oh, I wouldn’t call it an AD-move. It’s just standard. Ceylon is a strategic island when targeting Calcutta. The fleet is very exposed if the air can’t land.

    Actually, in BM3 that is not fully the case. It’s a huge difference to OOB where Germany quite easily can crush Moscow G5-7.

    In BM3 that is rarely done, because of the extra resources Russia collects. Germany usually has to settle with containing the Big Bear to stop it from growing and then later on prepare for a solid smash, which doesn’t happen before G10 at the least.


  • And by that time the other allies are able to start dropping in figs and stuff.


  • But I now it’s extremely boring to just buy inf for the first four russian turns. When it comes to enjoying the game an aggressive Russia is awesome, but it’s even more awesome to win. ;)


  • Have a NCM change. Thought the cr was US, but it’s aussie. I’ll put one more fig in Philly.

    Only if you want to keep this inventive strategy of yours. It’s cool, unexpected and refreshing, but honestly it’s obviously also weak. For several reasons. I’ve pointed some of them out already.

    Haha, there’s a very simple answer to that! So in a way it’s AD’s move, yes.

    Japan was in such heavy pressure the previous games - even our fourth - that there was no incentive whatsoever to grab Ceylon. Japan fought for its life to try and survive in China and fighting for FIC and Malaya.

    This game is very different.

    Still can’t feel the force the way he does, but I’m working on it. Sometimes though it’s like I’m playing blind-folded.
