Yankee or Dixie Quiz
-
This is cind of fun, I am interested in what people outside the US score or think of the test…
http://www.angelfire.com/ak2/intelligencerreport/yankee_dixie_quiz.htmlI got:
78% (Dixie). That is a pretty strong Southern score! -
43% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.
-
50% Yankee, although I couldn’t give entirely accurate answers.
*Born in Texas, and mostly raised in Kentucky.
-
54% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.
That’s funny because I have lived in New York my whole life … don’t have any southern influence on my life at all
-
51% dixie. what a crock. i only answered two were they said southeast by itself or common in texas.
all the rest were northeast, ohio area, great lakes, midwest or nationwide
how do two answers give me dixie. what bs.
-
Well, they were probly tring to give you the benifit of the doubt ;)
-
48% Yankee until 10 years ago…
63% Southern now (I dropped You’nz for Y’all, and hoagie for sub after I moved to NC)
-
99% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?
No, but I am related to General Stuart!
-

At 98%, English is not your “primary language” anymore :-)

@ncscswitch:
48% Yankee until 10 years ago…
thats my score 48% Yankee. although i’m now trying to use the word pop instead of soda because it sounds cooler( i live in coke country). but how is pajamas southern. it is a short a not a long one.

-
32%.
-
89% dixie, would have been higher but for that last bug in the barn question. Born in Alabama, raised in Florida!
-
43% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.
-
Yankee…… Having been born in New York, its good to know these things…
-
lol at the coke question. It’s hard to explain to people that you use the word coke instead of soda…
it’s also been quite a few years since I played with roly polies…
-
38% Yank, a definitive yankee. that’s right!
-

It was weird wasn’t it? I could have said every answer - it’s really just arbitrary. although in Texas, it seemed like everything was a pop, and my Ohio relatives made fun of that - they usually said soda. In KY, just about anything is a Coke, even Pepsi.
And I said roly polies & pillbug interchangeable - it may have depended on who was listening.

Do yall love to eat grits with your eggs for breakfast? Or do you’s guys prefer cream of wheat?
-
And btw yankees, when eating grits apply salt & not sugar dumbasses!
