@all-encompassing-goose
you can use different colored chips underneath your G40 sculpts to represent different unit types. i do this. you will also need ports (minor, major port, minor major dockyard, minor and major shipyard, airfields, fortifications, coastal guns, in port markers, rail roads, damage markers, and many others to pay the game though.
Country colored Industrial Complexes or generic?
-
Not a rules questions just a preference…
What do you prefer? Generic white industrial complexes or country specific?
Right now I am leaning towards white generic ones. Easier to spot. Just curious what other prefer.

I bought the ‘generic’ ones:

I have those. Just got some of the industries in the Global War Sets for each country and was contemplating going with them too….since they are not really to much larger.

What are the costs if you want to have the coloured facilities for all nations?
(if you have done that calculation) -

Yes. I know
But how many are required for a complete set for GW36/39 ?
You need more than for A&AG40, so you will have to supplement with singles. Eyeballing the content of the A&A set, you probably end up around the 50$ mark. It’s actually odd that HBG don’t sell a “GW36/39” package.
Oh well, I’m happy with the acrylic generic ones :-D

Well, you did ask
As for how many factories you would need for GW36/39, I don’t know, I don’t play GW36/39 and don’t follow all the details regarding it. I do find it odd how hard it is to find those factories. I looked and looked and finally found the G40 set in with the rule book and chips for Europe 1940 Second Ed. If it were me, I’d post a link to those and the acrylic national control markers off of the front page. They didn’t ask me, though.

The reason there is a factory set for Global 40 is because HBG asked me for suggestions for A&A and that was one of the things that I came up with. I just started playing 36 so I don’t know how many of each factory is needed to make up a set yet. There are some other things coming soon for 36 which you will be able to see on my channel and on the Hilltop Pillbox.

I believe a starting set up requires….
17 Minor Factories
24 Major Factories
-
All my factories are the same color…I don’t see the need to have factories painted to the color of the country…roundel tells you that plain enough…lol

It’s easy to see how many factories are in the opening setup. What I need to know is how many you need throughout the game. It will take a number of games to determine that. If anyone has a good estimate please let me know.

Sorry wasnt replying to you. Someone asked earlier the starting.
But I bet you having 10 of major and 15 extra minors would probably be enough. That probably even an overkill.
As to my original post I think for now I’ll stick with the markers and if I do up grade to the complexes it will probably be just white.
That way they don’t get drowned out with the military units.

Something that can change hands should remain as a generic colour for all. There’s enough stuff to do without having to swap out different coloured factories as well!
